Monthly
dances at the Herndon Community Center (HCC) are not sponsored
by HMS or the HMS PTA, but are sponsored and supervised by Herndon
Parks and Recreation Employees. They are advertised and draw from
Herndon Middle School, Rachel Carson Middle School and St. Joseph's
School. The HCC will sell tickets at the school during lunch period
at HMS. Tickets are $4.00 in advance. Tickets may be purchased
at the door but a current HMS Student ID card must be presented
or a parent must accompany the student to purchase the ticket.
Herndon
Police officers and HCC support staff provide security at all
dances, but parent volunteers are welcome. To volunteer, contact
Kimberly Wood or Cindy Roeder at the HCC, 703-435-6868.
The
dances are from 8:00 pm to 10:30 pm. The schedule of dances for
2007/08 is TBD.
